Upholsters will build a quality product by following specific instruction sheets and utilizing proper upholstery techniques. Upholsterers are expected to be able to use a variety of tools, including staple guns, scissors, air drivers, hammers, and mallets to attach the cover to the frame.

Requirements

• Inspect raw materials prior to performing operations to ensure proper quality standards and alert the supervisor to any substandard raw materials or prior operations
• Using staple guns, scissors, air drivers, hammers, mallets, or other tools attach cover, mechanisms, and springs to frame parts according to specifications to achieve high quality appearance and comfort
• Assemblers are required to correct any substandard, off-quality work that they produce
• Maintenance on equipment is required at all times, as well as preventative maintenance
• Maintain necessary skills to achieve 100% efficiency
• Adhere to all company policies and promote safety in the workplace by following all company safety rules
• Promote goodwill and a positive company image to fellow employees and the community
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Perform other duties as required by the supervisor
