Language Skills

Mathematical Skills
Accuracy in basic mathematical calculations (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and knowledge and application of units of measure.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking in routine and non-routine functions of operation, maintenance and construction of overhead and underground electric utility installations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver's license from the State of Mississippi.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lay bricks and finished concrete in the construction or repair of manholes, where a moderately high degree of finished work is required.
- Lay water pipe, prepare the proper hole for bell joints, fit sleeves, cut and thread pipe for connection.
- Shore and brace trenches in sewer construction, lay and make joints in sewer pipes.
- Operate backhoe, sewer rodders, air compressor, jackhammer and other related equipment under supervision of foreman.
- Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment used in everyday work.
- Operate, maintain and install water and sewer taps and connections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
