TWL PART-TIME STUDENT/LABORER

Summary:

Performs various duties in either department (Electric OR Water & Sewer).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Loads, unloads and carries materials, supplies and equipment.
  
• Drags limbs and brush to street (when assigned to tree trimming crew).
  
• Pulls/removes water meter lids (when assigned to assist meter reader).
  
• Assists in the maintenance of right-of-way for properties to include mowing of grass and spraying of poison on weeds and other growth detrimental to the operating efficiency of the utility service applicable.
  
• Assists in repairing leaks and breakage in water lines (when assigned to a water crew).

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

High school student (at least 16 years of age) or high school diploma or acceptable equivalent (i.e. GED).

Language Skills:

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply principles of logical thinking or scientific thinking in routine and non-routine functions of operation, maintenance and construction.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

Valid driver’s license for the State of Mississippi.
