A Teller II provides prompt, efficient, and friendly services to customer, involving receipt and payment of cash, and to recognize customers' needs with suggestions appropriate to the Bank's services. Accepts checks for cashing, receives checking and related accounts; accepts deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, makes change, and issues receipts Receives savings deposits, pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature; redeems U.S. Savings Bonds Receives loan payments when installment loan coupon accompanies payment Processes night deposit and mail-in deposits Process cashier's checks, cash advances, and other Bank services. Accepts applications and issues U.S. Savings bonds May service ATM according to schedule or need May accepts tax deposits and various utility payments Opens safety deposit boxes Completes CTR reports as needed Performs duties of branch CSR on scheduled Saturday rotation May assist with opening new accounts Cross-sells bank and affiliate services Completes all required training Performs other related duties as required or assigned Education and Experience Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. One to Two years of customer service and cash handling experience required; experience in a bank or similar financial institution preferred. Strong customer contact skills to meet and greet the public in a friendly, courteous manner responding to a variety of situations in a professional manner Maintain confidentiality of the Bank's records and customer transactions. Detail oriented, accurate, and able to multi-task; good mathematical aptitude Ability to operate a computer terminal, 10 key, and other general office equipment Willingness to be involved and represent Southern Bancorp through civic and community organizations. Regularly required to sit, to talk, and to hear; reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally stand and walk; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision. May be required to lift or move up to 10 pounds occasionally.
