Now Hiring: Experienced In-House Billing Specialist
Part-Time | Chiropractic & Massage Therapy Clinic | North Portland
We’re a well-established Chiropractic and Massage Therapy clinic located in the heart of North Portland’s historic Mississippi Neighborhood. We’re looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and reliable in house Billing Specialist to join our close-knit team. This is a part-time position, approximately 20–25 hours per week, with a focus on medical billing for chiropractic and massage services. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a meaningful role now—with potential to grow in hours over time.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Verifying insurance coverage & benefits
- Managing authorizations and referrals
- Working through backlogged claims
- Posting payments & processing refunds
- Submitting, correcting, and appealing claims
- Handling denials & tracking claim statuses
- Sending monthly patient statements & managing payment plans
- Maintaining and updating patient billing files
- Monitoring EOB trends and identifying coding issues
- Ensuring timely claim filing and accurate coding
- Collaborating with the chiropractor and office manager on billing & collections issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience in medical billing (chiropractic/massage a plus)
- Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with ChiroTouch, Trizetto, or Office Ally preferred (but teachable)
Preferred Experience:
Understanding & familiarity with chiropractic, massage, & manual therapy insurance coding & modality billing guidelines
