Military Student Onboarding Manager for the Office of Military and Veterans' Services (Fordham University)

MissionWise seeks an experienced individual with a strong admissions background and/or enrollment coach expertise to serve veteran and dependent students at the Office of Military and Veterans’ Services (OMVS) within Fordham University.  

• Provide 1:1 coaching to veterans and dependents from the moment they are admitted to the university and throughout their academic lifecycle
• Run orientation events to provide expert onboarding advice, and manage onboarding communications for new students based on a deep understanding of the steps required for students to receive military/veteran benefits and related services
• Provide recommendations and advice to help military-connected students successfully enter or re-enter an academic environment to include coaching them to a strong start at Fordham University in an effort to drive first term student success and retention
• Help students troubleshoot onboarding problems while serving as an advocate and liaison within the university 
• Prioritize, and when needed, escalate students showing signs of high risk to your manager and to appropriate university and pre-vetted applicable resources to support their short and long term success  
• Collaborate with colleagues to design standard onboarding plans for veteran students, then stand up the systems and curriculum required to support them
• Identify and implement ongoing improvements as the military connected student community grows 
• Identify opportunities for professional development
• Partner with admissions offices to provide a “white glove” handoff to the correct departments.

• Ability to work in the U.S.
• Proficient skills and working knowledge of or comfort with cloud-based and computer software systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and team communication applications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Direct connection to the military strongly preferred
• Prior experience in admissions or recruitment, and/or success coach in a university or military setting is a plus, ideally working with U.S. military veterans 

• $80-90K

• In-person preferred, with the possibility of up to 3 days a week remote. Travel between Fordham’s Rose Hill and Lincoln campuses will be required. Additionally, travel to other locations connected to Fordham and to military-connected sites may occasionally be required.

• While employed by MissionWise, this position reports directly to the Senior Director of Military & Veterans’ Services at Fordham University
