COMSEC Subject Matter Expert (12 years, 3D Design)

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
Clearance Required: Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert – Communications Security (COMSEC) with over 12 years of experience in cryptographic modernization and remote SNMP device management. This role also requires advanced expertise in 3D design, including SolidWorks and 3D print technologies, to support integration and prototyping efforts. The selected candidate will serve as a recognized SME in cryptographic modernization, delivering secure, innovative, and integrated COMSEC solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide recognized SME-level leadership in cryptographic modernization initiatives, from design through integration and deployment

• 
  Lead development and integration of remote cryptographic device management capabilities using SNMP or similar technologies
• 
  Oversee COMSEC systems deployment, modernization, and lifecycle management in accordance with NSA, DoD, and IC standards
• 
  Conduct threat and risk assessments for cryptographic systems and hardware solutions
• 
  Apply 3D design and 3D print technologies to support hardware integration, prototyping, and system enclosures
• 
  Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across COMSEC, engineering, and operations to ensure secure, reliable solutions
• 
  Prepare detailed technical documentation, design drawings, specifications, test plans, and user guides

• 
  Stay current on COMSEC policies, cryptographic standards, emerging technologies, and best practices

Must Have’s:

• 12 years of COMSEC experience, including cryptographic modernization and remote device management

• 
  Recognized SME in remote cryptographic management capability development and integration
• 
  10 years of 3D design experience (SolidWorks or equivalent) and experience with 3D print technologies
• 
  Active Top Secret / SCI clearance at time of proposal submission
• 
  Strong knowledge of NSA, DoD, and IC cryptographic and cybersecurity standards

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; advanced degree preferred

Nice to Have’s:

• Experience with hardware encryption modules, firmware, or specialized cryptographic devices

• 
  Mechanical design experience for secure enclosures and physical protections

• 
  Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCFP, or equivalent

Salary

$180,000 – $220,000
