Our client, a leading financial institution based in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking an Operations Specialist to join their growing team. This individual will be responsible for processing and settling security trades at DTC, including equities, corporate fixed income, and commercial paper, while managing client communication and reconciliation in a fast-paced environment. Will look at recent college graduates with relevant internship experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Process and settle deliver and receive orders through DTC for custody accounts
- Verify trade information (account number, quantity, CUSIP, etc.) against broker presentations via the Sonic system
- Review and resolve discrepancies, including DTC reclaims
- Escalate high-value problem trades to management
- Communicate professionally with internal and external clients and counterparties to resolve issues and minimize risk
- Contribute to management reporting, including work volume statistics
- Support process improvement initiatives across the division
Requirements:
- 0-1 year of experience in financial services, preferably a large banking institution
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of USD and foreign currency payments preferred
