What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Agent position at Mission Staffing?
Seeking an experienced Affordable Housing Compliance professional to oversee resident certifications, conduct file audits, and ensure regulatory compliance across the portfolio. The ideal candidate has experience with LIHTC and HUD programs and is comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities Include:
• Review annual and interim recertification files for accuracy.
• Process and approve Tenant Income Certifications (TICs).
• Verify income, assets, and household eligibility.
• Ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and other affordable housing regulations.
• Conduct compliance file audits and identify deficiencies.
• Maintain accurate resident compliance records.
• Work closely with Property Managers to resolve compliance issues.
• Assist with agency and investor audits.
• Track recertification deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Stay current on affordable housing regulations and policy changes.
Requirements:
• 2 years of affordable housing compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of LIHTC and/or HUD regulations.
• Experience processing annual and interim recertifications.
• Experience with EIV, TRACS, Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management software preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist)
• HCCP (Housing Credit Certified Professional)
• TCS (Tax Credit Specialist)
• Experience managing multiple affordable housing properties or portfolios.
• Experience working for an owner/operator or affordable housing management company.
