Pay Range: $16.66 - $17.34/hr

Reports To: Facilities  Manager

Status: Seasonal, Full-Time or Part-time

CLEANING CREW  JOB SUMMARY:

The Cleaning Crew plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of all Mission Ridge buildings and facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. This hands-on position may involve day or evening shifts depending on operating hours and special events throughout the year. Team members in this role interact with the public and various departments, and must possess strong people skills, reliability, and a consistently positive attitude.

The ideal candidate has prior experience with professional cleaning duties and demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including challenging weather conditions, is essential.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:

• Facility Cleaning: Perform cleaning duties in all Mission Ridge buildings, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces.

• Vacuuming & Waste Removal: Ensure all floors are vacuumed regularly and trash is collected and properly disposed of throughout the facilities.

• Restroom Maintenance: Conduct regular restroom checks to maintain cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.

• Outdoor Area Upkeep: Maintain walkways, entrances, and exterior garbage cans, including snow and debris removal during inclement weather.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Cleaning Product Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning compounds, chemicals, and their safe and appropriate usage.

• Equipment Operation: Experience operating carpet and upholstery cleaning machines effectively and safely.

• Basic Plumbing Ability: Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains or replacing fixtures.

• Communication Skills: Capable of maintaining clear, respectful communication with coworkers and other departments.

• Problem-Solving: Able to think quickly and resolve cleaning or maintenance issues independently.

• Attention to Detail: Maintains high standards of cleanliness and identifies areas needing extra attention without prompting.

• Adaptability: Comfortable working in varied environments and adjusting tasks based on facility needs and weather conditions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must hold a valid Washington State Driver’s License and have a minimum of two years of related experience in janitorial, facilities, or maintenance roles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a physically active position requiring frequent walking, standing, lifting, and movement throughout the day. Employees must be able to work in all weather conditions, particularly during the winter months, and respond promptly to cleaning or maintenance needs as they arise. The role requires effective communication with coworkers and the ability to perform tasks under pressure.
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of work is performed in various Mission Ridge facilities, both indoors and outdoors. Conditions may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet surfaces, snow, or other outdoor hazards. This role requires the ability to adapt quickly and problem-solve in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable, mountain environment.

Seeing: RARELY (0-12%)

-must be able to read Reports and use a computer

Hearing: REGULARLY (67-100%) 

- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers

Standing/Walking: REGULARLY (67-100%)

-Consistent and constant standing and walking while in operation.

Climbing/stooping/Kneeling: REGULARLY (67-100%)

-The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods. 

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: REGULARLY (67-100%)

-Must be able to lift items up to 50lbs

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: REGULARLY (67-100%)

-Must be able to write, and use phone system
