Compensation ranges from $100,000–$200,000, depending on experience, along with a structured bonus program and a comprehensive benefits package.

About the Opportunity

Our client is expanding its Medical Malpractice Defense practice and is seeking attorneys who are passionate about litigation and professional growth. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators while managing sophisticated healthcare defense matters from inception through resolution.

Attorneys will represent hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers in complex malpractice claims while developing litigation strategy, conducting depositions, drafting motions, and appearing in court. The firm's collaborative culture emphasizes mentorship, coaching, and internal advancement, making it an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking long-term career development.

Responsibilities

• Defend hospitals, physicians, and healthcare providers in medical malpractice litigation
• Manage cases from inception through resolution
• Draft, review, and respond to written discovery
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Draft and argue motions
• Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and other proceedings
• Perform legal and medical research
• Develop litigation strategy and case evaluations
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and legal strategy
• Collaborate with attorneys and litigation support staff to achieve successful outcomes

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active New York Bar admission
• Two or more years of litigation experience preferred
• Direct medical malpractice defense experience required for mid-level, senior, and Of Counsel candidates
• Strong legal writing, advocacy, research, and analytical skills
• Experience managing litigation matters and meeting deadlines
• Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical malpractice defense experience
• Professional liability defense experience
• Experience conducting depositions and arguing motions
• Background as a District Attorney, in General Liability defense, or Personal Injury litigation will also be considered
• Interest in long-term career growth within a collaborative litigation practice
