Mission Recruiting is representing a confidential, growing defense litigation practice seeking California-licensed Auto Liability Defense Attorneys for a 100% remote position anywhere in California.

Offering a $150,000–$220,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus monthly production bonus opportunities, this role is designed for attorneys with experience in auto liability, personal injury defense, insurance defense, or civil defense litigation who want meaningful case ownership, strong litigation support, and opportunities to advance.

Both experienced trial attorneys and mid-level litigators are encouraged to apply. Senior attorneys can take ownership of matters through trial and mentor developing attorneys, while mid-level attorneys can expand their deposition, motion, mediation, and trial experience through structured mentorship.

Compensation

• $150,000–$220,000 base salary, depending on experience
• Monthly production bonus opportunity after an initial ramp-up period

Location & Work Arrangement

California — 100% Remote

Attorneys must:

• Reside in California
• Maintain active California Bar membership
• Be able to work effectively within a fully remote litigation team

Attorneys receive substantial ownership of their cases while benefiting from administrative, paralegal, and secretarial support. The practice combines the autonomy of remote work with regular communication, mentorship, and collaboration among attorneys and firm leadership.

The opportunity can accommodate different levels of experience. Senior litigators can manage matters from inception through trial and post-trial proceedings, while mid-level attorneys can build increasingly sophisticated litigation and trial skills alongside experienced attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Manage auto liability and personal injury defense matters
• Develop and execute litigation strategy
• Handle matters through resolution
• Draft and argue substantive motions
• Take and defend depositions
• Participate in mediations and settlement proceedings
• Handle hearings and other court proceedings
• Prepare cases for trial
• Conduct trials based on experience and case assignment
• Communicate effectively with clients throughout litigation
• Independently manage deadlines and an active caseload
• Collaborate with attorneys and litigation support professionals
• Mentor junior attorneys when appropriate based on experience

Recommended Qualifications

• Active California Bar license
• California residency required
• Experience with auto liability, personal injury defense, insurance defense, or civil defense litigation
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Strong client communication skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and litigation matters
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a fully remote team

For senior-level consideration:

• Extensive auto liability or personal injury defense experience
• Demonstrated trial experience
• Ability to manage matters from inception through trial
• Prior mentoring or leadership experience

For mid-level consideration:

• Experience handling auto liability or personal injury defense matters

• Interest in developing greater trial responsibility
