Position Title: Recreation Assistant II
Position Location: Polson, MT
Classification: Full-time (40 hours/week), Thursday through Monday, 8 AM to 4 PM.
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
Job Summary
The Recreation Assistant II supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in engaging, meaningful recreational and community-based activities. This position focuses on promoting social, emotional, and physical well-being through participation in structured and spontaneous recreation, both within the program and the community. The Recreation Assistant II plays a vital role in fostering independence, confidence, and inclusion for each client served by Mission Mountain Empowerment.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational, social, and educational activities aligned with client goals.

Support clients in exercise, arts and crafts, music, outings, and special events.

Encourage client engagement and provide individualized support to promote confidence, self-expression, and community inclusion.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment during all activities.

As needed, provide direct care and supervision, ensuring clients’ health and safety.

Assist with transportation to and from recreational events, appointments, or community activities.

Observe and document client progress, participation, and behavior in accordance with agency policies.

Collaborate with other DSPs, Leads, and Directors to ensure consistency and quality of services.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred.

CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Valid Montana driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and participate in physical activities as part of the program.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Work Environment
This position involves a variety of settings, including group homes, community centers, and outdoor environments. The candidate must be able to adapt to flexible schedules that may include evenings, weekends, or special events.
Salary : $18 - $20
