Position Overview:
Mission Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role blends instructional leadership and direct classroom teaching. The Math Specialist will coach and support math instruction in grades K2–4 while designing and delivering high-quality math instruction for scholars in grades 5 and 6.
This position is ideal for an educator who believes deeply in the potential of every child and is energized by both teaching and coaching. The Math Specialist will work closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and support teams to strengthen math instruction schoolwide, implement targeted supports, and ensure scholars build strong mathematical foundations.

Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Elementary Education or Mathematics (or eligibility for certification).
Experience teaching elementary mathematics
Strong knowledge of math intervention strategies and data-driven instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Coaching (K2–4):
Coach and support K2–4 teachers to strengthen math instruction across classrooms
Model lessons, co-plan, and provide feedback aligned to high-quality instructional practices
Collaborate with teachers to analyze scholar work and data to inform instruction and intervention
Support consistent, standards-aligned implementation of math curriculum
Partner with the Special Education Team and Elementary Support Team to ensure cohesive, differentiated support
Direct Instruction (Grades 5–6):
Design and deliver rigorous, engaging math instruction for 5th and 6th grade scholars
Use high-quality curricular resources to plan lessons, units, and assessments
Differentiate instruction to ensure all scholars meet growth and achievement goals
Foster mathematical discourse, growth mindset, problem-solving, and a love of learning
Schoolwide Responsibilities
