The Foreman at MCIS is responsible for directly overseeing and coordinating solution teams, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Foreman serves as the first line of leadership on the jobsite, driving daily productivity, safety, and quality.
In addition, the Foreman supports the Basic Installation Unit (BIU) framework by managing crew-level execution, tracking manpower readiness, and providing real-time updates on work status, materials, and equipment. In this role, the Foreman ensures alignment between field teams and broader BIU operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Crew & Field Supervision
- Lead and supervise field crews to ensure tasks are completed on time and according to plans and specifications
- Communicate daily assignments, goals, and safety expectations to team members
- Provide hands-on guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced workers
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials
BIU Operational Support
- Support the Superintendent and BIU leadership by maintaining accountability of manpower, materials, and equipment needs at the crew level
- Report crew readiness and progress into BIU operational updates, including daily accomplishments and challenges
- Participate in BIU planning sessions to align crew tasks with manpower laydowns and project schedules
- Monitor crew performance against BIU standards and SOPs, reinforcing discipline and accountability
- Assist in incident response by coordinating crew-level adjustments and implementing contingency plans
Work Coordination & Reporting
- Assist the Superintendent in coordinating subcontractor and BIU team activities to maintain workflow
- Track daily progress, reporting completed work, delays, material shortages, and operational issues
- Ensure materials are properly staged, stored, and installed to support uninterrupted operations
- Identify risks or conflicts at the crew level and escalate promptly to the Site Superintendent
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all MCIS and OSHA safety policies among crew members
- Conduct pre-task safety planning, toolbox talks, and enforce PPE use
- Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors to the Superintendent and BIU leadership
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and corrective action plans
Quality & Workmanship
- Inspect crew work regularly to verify compliance with project specifications and MCIS standards
- Assist in punch list work and project closeout tasks as directed
- Coordinate with the Superintendent to schedule inspections with authorities or third parties
Expected Working Hours
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (EST)
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project deadlines
- Hours may shift depending on operational needs
Employment Terms
- At-Will Employment: Employment with MCIS is at-will and may be terminated at any time by either party, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law.
- Confidentiality: Employees must sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Foreman, Lead, or Crew Supervisor in construction (mission-critical experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and OSHA safety practices
- Proven ability to supervise crews and coordinate activities within a BIU or team structure
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and construction documents
