Description:Solutions Architect (Engineering)Position OverviewWe're seeking a Solutions Architect to design innovative energy solutions that solve our customers' most critical challenges. You'll work at the intersection of customer needs, technical possibility, and commercial viability—translating complex requirements into compelling, profitable proposals that win business and deliver results.In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and customers to create system-level designs for distributed power generation, energy storage, and critical power applications. You'll combine deep technical expertise with business acumen to deliver solutions that are both technically excellent and financially sound.What You'll DoSolution Design & EngineeringDesign complete power and energy systems that meet customer technical requirements while achieving financial objectivesPerform dynamic modeling and engineering analysis to validate system performanceDevelop project scope definitions, equipment specifications, and technical documentationConduct value engineering to optimize solutions for cost, performance, and reliabilityEnsure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and customer specificationsCustomer Engagement & Technical Sales SupportLead technical discovery sessions with customers to understand requirements and constraintsConduct site visits and technical assessments to inform solution designPresent technical solutions to customer stakeholders, from facilities managers to executivesAddress technical questions and objections throughout the sales cycleBuild trusted advisor relationships through technical credibility and customer focusTranslate complex technical concepts into clear business value for diverse audiencesProposal Development & Commercial SupportDevelop comprehensive technical proposals that differentiate our solutionsCollaborate with Sales to create winning strategies for competitive opportunitiesDefine project budgets, timelines, and resource requirementsAssess technical risks and develop mitigation strategiesSupport contract negotiations with technical expertise and clarificationsEnsure proposal quality, consistency, and alignment with company standardsCross-Functional CollaborationWork with Engineering teams to apply new technologies and products to customer applicationsPartner with Finance to develop accurate cost models and financial projectionsCoordinate with Project Management and Service Operations on solution feasibility and deliveryProvide customer feedback to Product Management to inform product developmentCollaborate with other Solutions Architects to share knowledge and best practicesSupport the transition from sales to delivery, ensuring continuity and technical accuracyContinuous Improvement & InnovationStay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive solutionsIdentify opportunities to improve solution design processes and toolsContribute to the development of standard designs, templates, and best practicesParticipate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learnedBuild technical expertise through training, research, and hands-on learningWhy This Role MattersAs a Solutions Architect, you'll play a critical role in our growth and customer success. Your expertise and contributions will be recognized, and you'll have a clear path to grow your impact and career.Requirements:What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications5 years of experience in technical design, pre-sales engineering, or applications engineering within energy, industrial systems, or complex technical environmentsStrong technical foundation with demonstrated ability to learn and master new technologiesProficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and engineering analysis toolsExperience creating technical proposals and customer-facing documentationExcellent communication skills—able to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiencesStrong problem-solving abilities and systems-thinking approachBusiness acumen with understanding of project economics and value driversWillingness to travel regularly (approximately 30-40%) for customer meetings and site visitsPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of distributed power generation, energy storage, or critical power systemsEngineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field)Experience with financial modeling and project budgetingFamiliarity with relevant industry codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IBC, etc.)Track record of winning complex technical salesExperience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentTechnical CompetenciesSystem-level design and integration thinkingTechnical modeling and performance analysisCAD and 3D visualization proficiencyEngineering documentation and technical writingRisk assessment and mitigation planningCustomer-focused problem solvingProfessional CompetenciesStrong customer orientation and relationship buildingCollaborative mindset and cross-functional partnershipAttention to detail with ability to manage multiple complex projectsSelf-motivated with strong organizational skillsIntellectual curiosity and continuous learning orientationComfort with ambiguity and changing prioritiesProfessional presence and credibility with customers and internal stakeholders
