Duties
- Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive environment that promotes curiosity and learning among preschoolers.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate educational activities, play, and social-emotional development strategies.
- Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and positive behavior management at all times.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships.
- Maintain accurate documentation of children’s developmental progress, attendance, and classroom routines in compliance with licensing standards.
- Collaborate with team members to plan special events, themed activities, and youth programs that enhance the preschool experience.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and mandated reporting laws.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with young children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or early childhood education programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques suitable for preschool-aged children.
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing commitment to maintaining these certifications is required.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with parents, guardians, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to plan engaging activities tailored for toddlers through elementary school-age children that support their growth across multiple domains.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being.
- Classroom experience in daycare or early childhood education settings is preferred; enthusiasm for teaching young children is essential.
