Position Overview:
The Fieldwork Certification Coordinator provides comprehensive leadership for all clinical/field-based experiences within the educator preparation program. This includes arranging, monitoring, and evaluating student teacher placements and early field experiences in collaboration with program faculty and field supervisors. The Coordinator acts as the primary liaison between the university and its partner schools and districts, ensuring that all field experiences align with program goals and meet state certification and accreditation requirements.
Additionally serves as the primary liaison between the Educator Preparation Program's (EPP) candidates, faculty, and the PA Department of Education (PDE) regarding all matters of teacher certification and continuing education credit. The Coordinator is an expert in Pennsylvania's complex certification regulations and policies and must be able to apply them consistently and accurately.
Education:
- Required: A bachelor's degree in education or a closely related field.
- Preferred: A master's degree in education or a related field is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Previous professional experience in an educational setting (K-12 and/or higher education) is required, with a strong background in administrative or supervisory roles.
- Prior experience involving curriculum, certification requirements, or regulatory compliance is most preferred.
- Previous teaching and/or administrative experience in a K-12 setting is highly desirable.
Work Related Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in Pennsylvania educator certification laws, regulations, and policies (PDE regulations) are essential.
- Familiarity with best practices for teacher preparation and field experiences.
