Position Summary
Misericordia University is seeking qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Exercise Science on a part‑time, semester‑by‑semester basis. Responsibilities
Adjunct faculty may be assigned lecture or lab courses in areas such as:
- Exercise Physiology
- Kinesiology & Biomechanics
- Strength and Conditioning
- Anatomy & Physiology (with lab, as appropriate)
- Motor Behavior / Motor Learning
- Fitness Assessment & Exercise Prescription
- Health Promotion & Wellness
Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing course materials, syllabi, assessments, and lab activities aligned with departmental standards
- Teaching in face‑to‑face or hybrid modalities, depending on departmental need
- Providing timely, formative, and summative feedback to students
- Maintaining accurate academic records, attendance, and grades
- Supporting an inclusive, student‑centered learning environment
- Collaborating with program faculty to ensure curricular consistency and accreditation standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated content knowledge in assigned teaching areas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of Misericordia University
Preferred Qualifications
- Collegiate teaching experience (lecture and/or lab)
- Relevant clinical or professional experience in exercise science, fitness, or health‑related fields
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACSM‑EP, ACSM‑CEP, NSCA‑CSCS, NASM, ACE)
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard) and technology‑enhanced instruction
- Experience supervising undergraduate research or applied projects
