Job Description
Title: Electronic Assembly Technician
Location: Mirian Solutions Inc., Bridgeville, PA
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Manager
SUMMARY
Electronic Assembly Technicians produce cable and harness assemblies for the electromechanical industry by following clear work instructions and meeting IPC soldering standards and ISO9001 quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs measuring, stripping, crimping and soldering of wire or cable and final assembly of harness components according to prints, assembly instructions and product specifications in standard and metric units, using hand tools, precision instruments and test equipment as required.
- Performs component installations, soldering, mechanical assembly on printed circuit boards (SMT and or Through Hole Technology), according to prints, assembly instructions and product specifications using hand tools, precision instruments and test equipment as required.
- Reads prints, schematics, assembly instructions, and job routers as appropriate to determine the methods and sequence of assembly operations.
- Examines component parts and subassemblies and verifies conformance to documentation.
- Performs testing and/or programming per customer specifications.
- Complies with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures while handling ESD sensitive devices.
- Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area ensuring that soldering irons and tools are maintained, and components and products are safely stored and organized.
- Completes tasks and or assignments as required by management.
- Committed to the quality and adequacy of work contributions.
- Works independently and as part of a team.
- Perform other tasks to support Production and other departments as needed or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of cable harness assembly, equipment and their associated applications and processes.
- Knowledge of electromechanical assembly, equipment and their associated applications and processes.
- Ability to produce wire and cable connections meeting appropriate IPC standards.
- Compliance with ESD protection for the safe handling of products and components.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings, and associated documents.
- Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards including IPC-A-610.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures.
- Courteous and professional demeanor and orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
