Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards. Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Prepare and record journal entries accurately using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP standards and applicable regulations.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Handle bank reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a full charge bookkeeper or similar role with comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger management.
- Experience with governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax preparation.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating with auditors or external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial report writing is desirable.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work performed. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing complex financial data while adhering to regulatory standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical expertise in accounting software and a thorough understanding of both practical bookkeeping procedures and advanced financial concepts.
