About the Role:
As a Respiratory Therapist at Unity Health and Rehabilitation Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to our patients, including assessing airway patency, administering oxygen therapy, and performing various pulmonary function tests. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, focusing on improving our patients' respiratory function, overall health, and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct respiratory therapy treatments, including but not limited to: aerosol therapy, respiratory muscle training, and oxygen therapy
- Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, including lung function tests and other diagnostic procedures
- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans in collaboration with our healthcare team
- Work closely with our therapy team to design and implement comprehensive care plans that address patients' physical, occupational, and speech therapy needs
- Provide education and training to patients and families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
- Manage and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and maintenance of life support systems
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Current certification in Respiratory Care (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as stand for extended periods
