Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and professional School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and related activities. Duties
- Safely operate school buses and other commercial vehicles according to traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport students to designated locations, including schools, extracurricular activities, and special events.
- Assist children with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring proper behavior management throughout the route.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, student attendance, and any incidents or concerns during transit.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to address any issues or questions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including emergency procedures, child protection policies, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes respectful behavior and ensures student safety at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred; experience with school bus driving or paratransit is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for effective interaction with diverse communities.
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings demonstrates an understanding of child behavior management.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle operation helps in routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Customer service skills are essential for engaging positively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Experience in teaching or senior care can be beneficial for understanding child development and behavior management strategies.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required; additional certifications such as CDL are preferred.
