Position Summary

The Vertical Transportation Specialist ensures the safety, performance, and compliance of elevators, escalators, and lift systems. This role provides technical oversight, supports inspections and modernization projects, and ensures alignment with national codes and GSA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on vertical transportation (VT) systems and operations
• Conduct QEI-certified inspections and ensure code compliance (ASME/ANSI)
• Review maintenance, inspection, and condition reports
• Support repairs, upgrades, and new installations
• Maintain VT asset inventory and performance data using NCMMS
• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements
• Coordinate with contractors and resolve service issues
• Support planning and execution of capital improvement projects

Qualifications

• QEI Certification (NAESA or equivalent) required
• Strong knowledge of elevator/escalator codes and standards
• Experience reviewing technical documents and maintenance data
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Experience:

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5–10 years of vertical transportation experience
