What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print Production and Bindery Assistant position at Minuteman Press?
Minuteman Press is seeking a Bindery Assistant. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of print production and equipment. Team member will be responsible for finishing jobs.
Responsibilities include:
- Must understand printing imposition, processes, and requirements
- Work with team to ensure quality of work, general bindery (cutting, scoring, perfing, spiral binding, folding, stapling, collating and glueing)
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of digital presses
- Contact and communicate effectively with equipment technicians and graphic artists when necessary
- Maintain inventory of supplies necessary for projects in queue
- Manage Work In Progress timelines; coordinate with team to produce and prioritize jobs and reorganize, when necessary, to meet changing deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and product generated, utilizing internal job tickets and tracking systems
- Ensure consistency of database information, file structure and archiving records
- Follow work order directions accurately to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assist with troubleshooting and provide support to the Creative department as needed
- Plan, analyze, and create visual solutions
- Maintain Minuteman Press branding standards and work with company proprietary software
- Stay up to date on changing trends in the graphic design & print industry
Preferred Experience:
· Experience in Commercial Printing Production
· Experience with Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is a plus
· Experience operating digital printing equipment
· Experience with personalized database printing (variable data printing), postal regulations and mailing services
· Experience using Command Workstation/EFI Fiery
Qualifications:
· Excellent verbal and written communication & organizational skills
· Ability to work efficiently in a high-production, fast-paced environment
· Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as necessary
· Ability and willingness to learn new software and hardware technologies
· Excellent project and time management
· Able to accurately discern colors

Compensation
Wages commensurate with experience/skill level.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
