What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Service Specialist position at Minute Men, Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Claims Service Specialist overall objective is to process non-complex, non-technical claims related activities directed by Claims Manager. You will handle every step from managing incoming calls and data entry, to filing reports and mail support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• PHONES/MAIL
o Open and distribute daily mail
o Answer and direct incoming phone calls
• CLAIM ENTRY
• BILL PAYMENT
• SCANNING OF DOCUMENTS
• RECORDS REQUEST AND FOLLOW UP
• SCHEDULING OF IME AND MAILING OF NOTICES
• C-92 APPLICATTIONS/C-256 RESPONSES/Tentative Orders
• INDEMNITY & MEDICAL PAYMENT /FILE TO ATTORNEYS
• PAYMENT OF MEDICAL BILLS ON ANY SHO ALLOWANCE OF CLAIM
• OTHER DUTIES ASSIGNED BY CLAIM MANAGER AND DEPARMENT VP
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
• High School Diploma
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Access, and Word.
• Exceptional work ethic, energy, and drive.
• Demonstrates alignment with company's code of ethics.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Sitting for long periods of time.
• Continuous viewing from, and inputting data to, a computer.
• Telephone and face-to-face conversations.
• Travel/drive, as needed, to visit office locations/customers.
