The Opportunity. We are a busy, patient-focused oral surgery practice in Fairhope, AL, dedicated to delivering exceptional care and consistently exceeding patient expectations. We’re seeking a motivated Registered Nurse (RN) looking to expand their current skillset in a rewarding, fast-paced setting. No oral surgery experience? No problem! We’ll provide comprehensive, hands-on training to give you the specialized skills you need to assist our surgeon with confidence.
Here, you’ll be a vital part of the surgical team—delivering exceptional pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care, ensuring patient safety, and helping create an experience where patients feel supported every step of the way.
Working hours for this full-time position are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:45am – pm, and Friday 6:45am to ~3pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Comprehensive Perioperative Care – Perform pre-op assessments, review medical histories, prepare patients and surgical equipment, start IV lines, and conduct official surgical “time-outs.”
- Support Excellence in Surgery – Maintain a sterile field, pass instruments, monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and accurately document in the EMR.
- Guide Safe Recovery – Monitor patients post-op, manage complications, provide clear discharge instructions, and ensure patients leave safely.
- Maintain Clinical & Administrative Excellence – Coordinate medical clearances, manage medication and IV inventory, oversee crash cart readiness, and uphold infection control standards.
- Be an Emergency-Ready Leader – Remain prepared for in-office medical emergencies, lead emergency drills, and participate in continuous staff training.

Required Skills for this Role:
- Advanced Clinical & Surgical Expertise – Demonstrated knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia protocols, and patient care best practices, with the ability to anticipate surgical team needs.
- Comprehensive Patient Assessment & Education – Skilled in evaluating medical histories, monitoring vital signs, identifying potential health risks, and providing clear, compassionate pre- and post-operative guidance.
- Precision in Medication & Anesthesia Management – Proficient in preparing, administering, and accurately documenting IV medications, anesthesia agents, and non-controlled substances.
- Excellence in Sterile Technique & Safety Compliance – Maintains a pristine surgical field, upholds strict infection control standards, and adheres to all healthcare safety regulations.
- Strong Emergency Response & Critical Thinking – Confident in handling in-office medical emergencies, utilizing crash cart equipment, and administering life-saving interventions under pressure.
- Exceptional Documentation & Communication – Produces accurate EMR entries, anesthesia logs, and surgical notes, while fostering clear, respectful communication with patients, families, and team members.
Experience and Education Minimum Requirements:
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, required.
- Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN exam, required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a RN, required.
Special Requirements/Certifications/Licenses:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate holder, required.
- ACLS and PALS certificate holder, required or willingness to complete within 30 days of employment.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license holder in good standing in the Alabama Board of Nursing, required.
- DAANCE certificate holder, preferred, or willingness to complete within twelve (12) months of employment start date.
- Successfully pass a criminal background check.
