Tier III Maintenance Technician

Position: Tier III Maintenance Technician
Location: St. Charles, IL
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Employment Type: Full-TimeSUMMARYOur client is seeking a Tier III Maintenance Technician to perform advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of complex machinery and facility systems. This is a senior-level, hands-on position supporting production uptime and continuous improvement in a plastics injection molding environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead troubleshooting and repair across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Perform and document preventative and predictive maintenance on injection molding and support equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and automation systems.
• Mentor and train lower-tier technicians.
• Lead and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Support facility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, boilers, and water treatment.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plastics injection molding environment.
• Strong skills in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine repair.
• Proficient with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, and automated systems.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical aptitude (AC/DC, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• CMMS software proficiency preferred.
• Forklift and aerial lift certification required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to train others.

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and work near moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to heat, oil, grease, solvents, and noise.
• Required PPE may include safety glasses, earplugs, helmets, and facemasks.
