Work Environment:

This position is a combination of office and manufacturing floor responsibilities. Engineers regularly support production operations, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and collaborate directly with production personnel. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when working in manufacturing areas.

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer – Controls supports the Controls Engineering team by developing and maintaining manufacturing processes, ERP engineering data, CNC programming, tooling, and process improvements. This position partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure products are manufactured efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities
Create and maintain bills of manufacture (engineering masters), routings, and related manufacturing data within the ERP system.
Develop, maintain, and support CNC programs for fabrication equipment, including sheet metal manufacturing machinery.
Design tooling and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency and coordinate fabrication internally or with outside suppliers.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and production issues alongside Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes to optimize quality, productivity, and cost.
Review engineering changes and implement updates to manufacturing documentation, routings, and open production orders.
Investigate non-conforming products, participate in corrective action activities, and support material review processes.
Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing equipment, tooling, and technologies to improve production capabilities.
Provide technical support during customer proposal and quotation activities.
Collaborate with design engineers regarding manufacturability, tooling, and production methods.
Support make-versus-buy evaluations with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean manufacturing principles.
Assist with onboarding and training new manufacturing engineering personnel.
Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience using CAD software; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing bills of material/routings.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred
Experience with sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, or 5S.
Experience supporting CNC programming and fabrication equipment.

Technical Skills
Manufacturing process development and optimization.

Engineering drawings and electrical schematic interpretation.
Root cause analysis and problem solving.
Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation.
