Job Summary:
The Park Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of park visitors, staff, and property. This role involves patrolling park grounds, enforcing park rules and regulations, responding to emergencies, and providing a visible and reassuring presence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to public service, and the ability to handle various situations with professionalism and discretion.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of park grounds, facilities, parking lots, and designated areas on foot, by vehicle, or other approved means, to deter criminal activity, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with park rules.
- Insure gates, doors and bathrooms are locked at designated times.
- Enforcement of Rules and Regulations: Educate visitors on park rules and regulations and, when necessary, enforce them respectfully and firmly. This includes issues such as littering, unauthorized activities, alcohol consumption, pet regulations, and closing times.
- Public Assistance and Information: Provide friendly and helpful assistance to park visitors, offering directions, information about park amenities, and general assistance as needed. Act as a visible resource for visitors.
- Property Protection: Monitor park property, equipment, and structures for damage, vandalism, or unauthorized access. Report and document any observed issues.
- Visitor Engagement: Act as a positive ambassador for the park, fostering a welcoming and secure environment for all visitors.
- Standard Hours: 8:00pm - 11:00pm
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or park ranger roles preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow).
- Ability to climb stairs, hills, and navigate uneven terrain.
- Good vision and hearing.
