Recreation Aid (Arts & Crafts Center)

About the position: This position will be a RECREATION AID assigned to ARTS & CRAFTS CENTER at Minot AFB, ND.

This is a FLEXIBLE (FLEX) position. A Flex (Intermittent) schedule does not have guaranteed hours, and you may work 0-40 hours per week as needed by the facility.

Employees are eligible to use the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, clubs, and swimming pool.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of skills development-type activities, rules and/or procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use of various related equipment and facilities are desirable: however, no experience is required. Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. May work as uncommon work schedule including weekends.


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Responsibilities:

Performs and/or assists other recreation specialists in the operation of the skills development center. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: sells resale store merchandise, takes reservations and payment for classes, ensuring all proper money handling procedures are followed. Assists in marking stock for sale, stocking merchandise to the shelves, taking orders for special orders of any items. Assist in setting up displays and decorations for special events. Becomes familiar with and/or knows where to find information concerning programs within the Services squadron. Assists in inventories and the security of materials and equipment within the center. Assists with group activities that require more than one staff monitor. Performs other related duties as assigned.
