Sonographer Job Description
Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sonographer to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce high-quality images for medical interpretation. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic images for our patients.
Essential Functions and Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography OB/GYN or related field
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sonographer
- CPR/BLS certified.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Ability to work at a computer and on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational skills and mindfulness
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Work is performed in a medical office setting using standard medical equipment. The risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids is present.
Sonographer Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using specialized equipment.
- Obtain and record patient history and clinical data.
- Performs exams with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Analyze images and provide preliminary findings to physicians.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Accurately uses ECW and Tricefy software.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
- Travel to other locations, as needed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
