What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Sonographer position at Regions Hospital?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Cardiac Sonographers will perform echocardiographic procedures on adult patients in the Cardiology Noninvasive Laboratory including M-Mode echocardiography, Two-Dimensional echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, pulsed, continuous wave, and color flow doppler echocardiography, stress echocardiography, dobutamine echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and to perform related duties as assigned. This position supports and participates in achieving departmental goals.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-4:15pm, on-call, and weekend rotation required.
Required Qualifications:
- Registration or registry eligible as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or RCS must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Will be required to become certified in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program in echocardiography or a bachelor’s degree in life science is preferred.
