Director of Content - $90,000 - $120,000 annually
Position Summary: The Director of Content leads the Minnesota Wild’s content strategy across social media, video production, and multi-platform storytelling. This role will define how the Minnesota Wild show up across digital, social and broadcast channels—driving fan engagement, audience growth, and brand impact. This position will oversee both real-time and long-form content, leading a team of social and video professionals while setting the creative and strategic direction for the organization’s content ecosystem.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Develop and own the Minnesota Wild’s content strategy, including defining content pillars, storytelling frameworks, and platform roles
- Oversee all video production, including game coverage, brand and revenue campaigns, original series, and sponsored content
- Lead organic social media strategy, including platform planning, content calendars, and real-time publishing
- Ensure content strategy aligns with paid media efforts, recognizing the role paid amplification plays in driving reach, performance, and revenue
- Integrate sponsorship and partnership objectives into social and content strategies in authentic, fan-first ways
- Build and execute strategies leveraging user-generated content (UGC) and influencer partnerships to expand reach and deepen fan engagement
- Drive organic audience growth through UGC, creator collaborations, and community-driven storytelling
- Set creative vision and production standards to ensure high-quality, on-brand storytelling
- Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team across social and video
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Community, Corporate, Media Relations, and Ticket Sales teams
- Track and analyze performance metrics to inform strategy and optimize content
- Stay ahead of industry trends to keep the Minnesota Wild at the forefront of NHL content innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Experience:
- At least eight years of experience in content, social media, and/or video production (sports or entertainment preferred).
- Proven experience leading creative and/or social teams
- Strong understanding of organic social strategy and content performance metrics
- Deep knowledge of video production and storytelling across platforms
- Experience working in fast-paced, live-event environments
