Health & Human Services Faribault and Martin Counties is hiring a full time Social Services Manager (Adults & Disabilities Services Manager). Deadline to apply is 06/04/2026. Faribault Martin salary range for this position is $36.94-$59.84/hour. Entry Salary Rate: $36.94-$40.25/hour.
Merit System Classification Summary: Under general supervision administers and monitors the social services/human services or income maintenance programs for the county involving the development, interpretation and assessment of a wide range of social service program policies and procedures; supervises and directs other unit supervisors or staff within a broad array of complex and interrelated social service programs; assumes responsibility for the maintenance of standards and for the coordination of the section's operations toward the agency's total goals and objectives; and performs related work as assigned.Minnesota Merit Examples of Duties
• Supervises department staff in varied and diverse programs
• Responsible for section's budget and cost containment involving a variety of budget sources.
• Assures all statutes, rules and regulations of assigned social service programs are effectively and professionally administered.
• Interprets a variety of state and agency policies and evaluates the impact of all policies on the provision of services within the assigned programs.
• Selects qualified personnel, taking Affirmative Action Plan goals into account.
• Evaluates staff performance and recommends appropriate action
• Recommends, reviews, evaluates and adjusts the operational procedures and policies used to implement a wide variety of federal, state and county rules and regulations
• Identifies staff training needs and assists in the development of training programs to meet the needs of the staff.
• As directed, arranges and attends meetings with community organizations, providers of social services and other agencies to coordinate the provision of social services to the community.
• As requested, presents issues and information to the board members.
• Fosters effective community-agency relations.MN Merit Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree from an accredited college in social work, behavioral sciences, human services administration or closely related field and one year of supervisory experience in a public or private welfare/human service agency.
OR
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and three years of supervisory experience in a public or private social services/human services agency.
