Responsibilities
The police cadet is an opportunity to become a licensed Police Officer for the City of Corcoran through participation in the Professional Peace Officer Education (PPEO) training program. Responsibilities include:
Associate's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.Â
Valid Driver's License
Ability to use a computer for coursework and for responding to email. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook) preferred.

The police cadet is an opportunity to become a licensed Police Officer for the City of Corcoran through participation in the Professional Peace Officer Education (PPEO) training program. Responsibilities include:
- Attending and successfully completing the PPEO program with a minimum grade of B.Â
- Completing all required classwork and related assignments on time and on schedule.Â
- Continuously progressing toward and passing the MN POST licensing exam.Â
- Attending required Department meetings, trainings and City events.
- Maintaining regular communication with designated department liaison during the academy.Â
- Ride-along with Corcoran Police as directed by the training coordinator.Â
- When not attending any required classes or activities they will report to Corcoran PD to assist with other duties assigned.
