The Tenth Judicial District is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Temporary Court Operations Clerk to join the Centralized Support Unit in Ramsey, MN. This temporary position will last approximately six (6) months with the possibility of extension based on business need.
The Court Operations Clerk position will perform office clerical work assisting proceedings in a district court of the Minnesota Judicial Branch. Office clerical work includes customer assistance, processing record requests, printing and mailing court documents submitted by Tenth District Court Offices, processing returned mail and updating court cases, as needed. Position involves working in all case types.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES:

Responsible for printing, mailing and/or electronically serving court orders and other court documents from a shared folder
Data entry, including basic case processing duties (example: enter prehearing exhibits).
Collaborate across county lines to ensure timely entry of returned mail
Recevies court papers or documents through the mail or electronically; date stamps and processes
May answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to routine information requests.
Administrative or other duties as assigned as the division develops
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and Experience: Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, abilities, and skills listed below.
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, and six (6) months of relevant job experience. Additional education may substitute for experience
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to learn electronic applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom and other job-related software
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service practices.
- Skill in the operation of a personal computer and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to maintain an accurate record filing system.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside of the Judicial Branch.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office-setting.
Physical Demands
Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying items less than 25 pounds such as papers and files. Some positions may require periods of extended sitting, standing, use of telephones and office equipment, and use of computers to enter and retrieve data. Some positions may require standing on a ladder to retrieve files from high shelves.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
This AFSCME-represented position is classified as a Court Operations Clerk and located in the District Administration Office located at 7533 Sunwood Dr. NW #306 Ramsey, MN 55303.
The expected hiring range for internal hires for this position is $18.33/hr to $23.80/hr based on qualifications, with a full future earning potential of $38,274- $62,306 annually.
- This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Core business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays.
