About the Opportunity
The Minnesota JCC seeks a seasonal Aquatics Director for the 2026 summer camp season. The Aquatics Director oversees pool safety and operations, ensuring all policies—especially American Red Cross guidelines—are followed. The role includes supervising the pool area and maintaining a safe, healthy environment for programs. A valid Red Cross lifeguard certification is required through the summer camp season, with training available if needed.
Daily Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8 hour daily shifts. Earliest arrival 8:00AM, latest departure 5:00 PM. May include evenings and weekends as needed.
Daily Rate:
$124.00/day (based on 8-hour workday).

- Responsible for being conscious of and protecting the health, safety, and welfare of all campers in any area or programs at camp.
- In addition to regularly scheduled camp days, attends and contributes to pre-camp training sessions, regularly scheduled staff meetings, and training sessions once camp is in session. Participates in the Open House and any family events.
- Supervision of the Camp Lifeguards, implement Aquatics programming for camp, including specialty camps, village programming, "water days", as well as periodic after camp and weekend pool activities.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the pools, pool logs, pool equipment, and light maintenance of locker room and deck areas.
- Promote safety within your area, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
- In conjunction with other specialists and senior camp staff, design and implement All Camp weekly and specialty programs based on the weekly themes.
- Other tasks as assigned by the camp leaders.
