This position supervises janitorial services to ensure all cleaning operations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards, supporting a clean, safe, and environmentally sound facility. The role serves as backup to the Night Building Manager and leads an FMD working group responsible for standardizing custodial procedures, equipment, supplies, and training methods across facilities. The position also provides hands-on training to custodial staff in cleaning techniques, chemical safety, equipment operation, and compliance with safety procedures and state policies. Additional responsibilities include supporting staffing assessments, assisting with hiring and onboarding processes, coordinating special cleaning projects, and carrying out supervisory functions to ensure effective operations and high-quality service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of supervisory experience that includes providing clear verbal and written work direction, mentoring and developing staff, conducting performance evaluations, addressing performance or conduct issues.
  • Janitorial or custodial experience, including knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Experience maintaining records, logs, or documentation related to staffing, cleaning schedules, and inspections.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Writing skills sufficient to organize and write an investigation report.
  • Experience participating in structured hiring processes, including interviewing and documenting candidate evaluations.
  • Experience leading collaborative working groups with diverse stakeholders to develop and implement standardized procedures and training programs.
  • Experience developing or updating custodial procedures, training materials, or position descriptions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, workplace safety practices, and proper chemical handling procedures.

Physical Requirements

A pre-employment physical (CRT test requirement minimum is light-medium, ex: able to lift 13-21 lbs. frequently 100-300 reps an hour).
