What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Inspector - University of Minnesota position at Minnesota City Jobs?
The Electrical Inspector is authorized by the University Building Official to enforce the electrical provisions contained in the Minnesota Electrical Code (MSBC). The position reviews and inspects the design, construction, alteration, demolition, and repair of items covered by the MSBC on all University properties system wide. This position administers rules and regulations, and enforces the laws as adopted per the MSBC related to fire, life safety, health, and the public welfare. This position has the responsibility for performing plan reviews, inspections and evaluations of electrical systems and installations for all new and existing buildings in accordance with the MSBC.
This position is a liaison to other University departments for questions/concerns involving design, operation and maintenance of electrical systems. The position also serves as the technical code advisor and professional resource to the University construction community, architects, engineers, and owners representatives.
