What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Consultant - Excelsior Fire District position at Minnesota City Jobs?
The Excelsior Fire District is excited to announce our Administrative Consultant position. The Excelsior Fire District consists of five member cities under a joint powers agreement. As the demands for service continue to grow, we have increased our paid-on-call and full-time staffing. With this growth has come the need to support the Fire Chief with the administrative functions, particularly human resources and finance, that would otherwise be supported by city staff.
We are looking for a candidate that has a working knowledge of common HR practices, with five-to-ten years of HR experience; knowledge of governmental budgeting, public records requirements, familiarity with open meeting laws, and board governance processes. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working as a city administrator/city manager. This is part-time position, planned for 20-30 hours per week, on a 1099 contract basis, with an initial term of one year.
