What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Supervising Physician position at Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology?
Coordinate and provide patient care through MRI monitoring.
- Be onsite during all patient exams requiring IV sedation and contrast injections.
- Be available to monitor for any type of adverse reactions to IV contrast.
- Administer and monitor for any Gadolinium reactions requiring IV emergency medications.
- Be onsite for MD supervision of Medicare patients.
Provide medical administrative duties in support of patient care.
- Greet patients in a warm and professional manner.
- Update patient information by obtaining a copy of insurance cards and securing patient
- signature forms if patient comes in outside of normal business hours.
Assist in preparing patients for MRI procedure.
- Make sure MRI patient information form is properly completed.
- If patient has brought comparison images, provide to the MRI Technologist.
- Ensure patient's jewelry and valuables are securely locked up.
- Ensure patient's clothing does not contain any metal; if so, clothing is to be removed, and a gown and robe provided to patient.
- Assist in transportation and of patients to the MRI scanner, if needed.
- Assist MRI Technologist with patient transfers to MRI scanning table, if needed.
Education and Experience:
- Current Minnesota MD or DO license in good standing
- Experience in Neurology or Radiology desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability and desire to be self-directed in performance of duties and self-educating in areas of deficiency, without need for continuous direct supervision.
- Patient centered, strong customer service orientation. Congenial demeanor with excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills, ability to relate to and engender confidence among patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ability to analyze clinical situations, draw appropriate conclusions and institute appropriate measures with good reasoning and problem-solving abilities, and acute intellect.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion.
- Proficiency with electronic health record and MS Office products.
