Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Trigger Point Therapist is a clinical care team member responsible for providing safe, effective, and consistent trigger point therapy to support patient recovery and overall treatment outcomes. This role plays a key part in enhancing patient experience, supporting doctors’ care plans, and maintaining efficient clinic flow.

Trigger Point Therapists are expected to deliver high-quality therapy while maintaining professionalism, clear communication, and respect for clinic standards. This position requires attention to detail, patient awareness, and the ability to work efficiently within a structured schedule.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Report: Patient Operations Lead; General Manager

Patient Care & Therapy Delivery

  • Provide trigger point therapy in accordance with clinic protocols and doctor directives.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality care focused on patient comfort and outcomes.
  • Adjust pressure and techniques appropriately based on patient feedback and tolerance.
  • Maintain a calm, professional presence throughout each therapy session.

Patient Interaction & Communication

  • Greet patients professionally and introduce yourself by name and role.
  • Clearly explain the therapy process prior to beginning treatment.
  • Communicate clearly during transitions before and after therapy.
  • Ensure patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their visit.

Patient Transitions & Flow

  • Escort patients promptly to and from treatment rooms.
  • Return patients to the appropriate waiting area following therapy.
  • Offer water when available and inform patients the doctor will be with them shortly.
  • Support efficient patient movement and clinic flow.

Professional Conduct

  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
  • Represent the clinic with positivity, professionalism, and respect.
  • Comply with all clinic policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Therapy is to be provided only to patients unless otherwise approved by management.

DAILY EXPECTATIONS

  • Be clocked in, prepared, and ready to work at the scheduled start time.
  • Remain on-site until all assigned patients have completed care unless otherwise approved by management.
  • Maintain awareness of patient schedule and flow throughout the shift.
  • Communicate proactively with the General Manager regarding scheduling needs or issues.
  • Prioritize patient care and clinic responsibilities during scheduled work hours.
  • Private practice, outside appointments, or other job obligations must not interfere with your Trigger Point Therapy schedule at the clinic.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be licensed in neuromuscular therapy, therapeutic massage or the required equivalent thereof.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to follow structured protocols and direction.
  • State certification or licensure as required (if applicable).

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • On-site position in a chiropractic/medical office setting.
  • Regular interaction with patients, doctors, and clinical staff.
  • Standing, walking, and providing hands-on therapy throughout the shift.
