What You'll Do
- Lead multiple software engineering teams on various SaaS-based applications spanning multiple technology stacks
- Drive the adoption and standardisation of software development tools and processes
- Develop a culture which empowers high employee engagement and cohesive, collaborative teams across domains and locations
- Effectively inspire and influence teams and partners in delivering technology-enabled business solutions with high availability and reliability
- Drive innovation while utilising emerging technologies and make recommendations on the strategic use of technology to improve the consumer experience
- Work closely with other technology and infrastructure teams to foster an environment of the right tools and practices for application development
- Continuously monitor and improve on practices to drive optimal efficiency and speed of innovation
- Define technology standards, architectures, and strategic directions to optimise security, stability, and scalability of the R&D software development lifecycle
- At least 5 years of experience as a Director of Software Engineering, preferably in a comparably complex organisation delivering technology products and services
- Experience in a senior role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in development and implementation of software solutions
- Proven leadership capability – both developing leadership within your team and demonstrating leadership among peers
- Expertise with Agile, SCRUM and other industry-standard frameworks – implementation and execution
- Experience with the following technologies: Cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure), Microsoft 365, virtual telephony, monitoring and alerting tools, business systems (CRM, Sales/Marketing tools, Billing, Accounting, Finance, HR, etc.)
- Ability to coach and mentor technical managers, leaders, and developers
- Strong leadership, listening, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to verify and define requirements for projects and requests
- Ability to properly assess and articulate risk
- Excellent customer-service orientation
- Capable of meeting deadlines with a focus on results and value creation
