We’re seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic team in Trevose, PA and play a key role in our financial operations. This position is a hybrid role (minimum 3 days office) and reports to the Accounting Manager.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Accountant with a strong understanding of accounting principles. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including managing general ledger entries, identifying process improvements, assisting with the year-end audit, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurately and reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Oversee general ledger journal entries and month-end closings.
- P&L variance analysis and detailed review of the general ledger transactions.
- Ensure compliance with the credit card spend through review of supporting documentation and accuracy of account coding during the monthly accrual entry.
- Manage the accounting inbox for inquiries around depot-level P&Ls and general accounting requests.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested financial documents.
- Assist with operating tax notices and filings as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automate manual processes.
- Offer insights and strategies to mitigate financial risks and enhance accounting practices.
- Handle ad hoc accounting projects as assigned.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial reporting.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing/distribution industry, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
- Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software; SAP Business One experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A self-starter with strategic thinking abilities and the capacity to function in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
