Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prioritize Safety: Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), before performing any work on equipment.
- Help analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment issues across mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), pneumatic, and PLCcontrolled systems.
- Perform maintenance on all processing and packaging equipment throughout the plant, including milk receiving, cheese production, and butter production areas.
- Interface with PLC systems (e.g., AllenBradley) to diagnose equipment faults and support operational efficiency in our highly automated facility.
- Participate in preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure equipment longevity. Document all work performed in our maintenance management system.
- Analyze equipment breakdowns and use good judgement to minimize production disruptions
- Support production, sanitation, and quality assurance teams to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure food safety standards are met.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field is highly preferred.
- 35 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the food & beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical industry is a significant plus.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, including motors, VFDs, and control circuits.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience repairing gearboxes, pumps, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and pneumatic diagrams.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, wet surfaces, and noise.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
