Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Renewable up to 3 years)
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Systems Engineer to join our Product Development team, supporting the On Market Support (OMS) function. This role requires a strong systems engineering mindset and direct experience working with electro-mechanical devices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analyzing product performance, improving processes, and driving engineering excellence across complex systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply advanced engineering principles to support complex product development and on-market support activities.
- Analyze data, evaluate results, and implement process and product improvements.
- Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) strategies to ensure product performance and compliance.
- Generate design concepts, participate in design reviews, and conduct experiments including Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Troubleshoot product and system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Define problems clearly and utilize structured problem-solving tools to identify actionable solutions.
- Plan and execute assigned engineering projects while identifying and mitigating technical risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and potentially patentable solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of engineering principles with the ability to apply technical expertise, creativity, and independent judgment.
- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems.
- Proven experience in developing and executing V&V test strategies.
- Solid knowledge of requirements engineering and risk management methodologies (e.g., FMEA).
- Experience in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 61010, AAMI, ISO 13485, or SAFe Agile methodologies is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- INCOSE certification is a plus.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, life sciences) is advantageous.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical) with 3–5 years of relevant experience
- OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience
