Job Title: Payroll Manager
Location: Kohler, WI
Duration: 4-6 Months contract with possibility of full-time conversion
Hybrid: This role requires an onsite presence 4 days a week
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead and support payroll operations for our U.S. workforce. This role ensures timely, accurate payroll processing while maintaining full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong Workday Payroll expertise, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional employee support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy and on-time execution.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and internal policies.
- Lead and mentor payroll team members, fostering growth and high performance.
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and cross-functional teams to streamline payroll operations and resolve issues.
- Prepare, review, and oversee payroll reports, including regulatory filings and wage statements.
- Conduct routine audits of payroll data and processes to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Monitor legislative changes and update payroll practices accordingly.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for employee payroll inquiries, ensuring responsive and professional support.
- Manage year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Collaborate with external payroll vendors and internal project teams to support system enhancements and implementations.
Reporting & Collaboration:
- Reports to the Director, Global Payroll
- Supervises Payroll Analysts
- Regular collaboration with Total Rewards, Finance, HR teams, and payroll vendors
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of payroll management experience
- At least 3 years of experience working with Workday Payroll (implementation experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll operations and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to lead and develop payroll teams
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Preferred:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
