What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freelance Brand Strategist, Commercial RFPs (As Needed) position at mindbodygreen?
mindbodygreen partners with brands that want to show up meaningfully in the wellness conversation, and that's a wider net than you might think. On any given week we might be pitching a beauty launch, a better-for-you food brand, a home brand, a lifestyle retailer, or an auto client looking to reach a more intentional consumer. We're building a bench of freelance strategists to help us respond to RFPs across these categories.
You'll partner closely with our Director of Brand Strategy and our sales team to crack the brief, develop audience and cultural insight, build the strategic story, shape integrated content and media ideas, and help write and structure the final deck. Some projects are a single section on a fast turn, others are full responses from kickoff through submission.
You're a great fit if you have 5 to 10 years of brand strategy experience, ideally in branded content, media, or agency settings, and you've written your share of RFP responses or pitch decks. You're a strong writer, you're fast without being sloppy, and you can find the insight in a category you've never worked in before. You're comfortable building in Google Slides and PowerPoint and can take a deck from rough outline to polished draft. Experience across wellness, beauty, and lifestyle is a plus, but range and instinct matter more than a perfect category match.
RFP timelines are often tight, so we're looking for someone who can turn work around within a few days and is generally available during ET business hours when a project is live.
