Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay them efficiently to the kitchen staff
- Serve food, drinks, and desserts promptly while maintaining presentation standards for fine dining or casual settings
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities through suggestive selling techniques like OpenTable reservations or specials
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met by handling food properly, cleaning tables, and maintaining a tidy service area
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including processing payments via POS systems and providing correct change
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and hosts/hostesses to coordinate timely service and guest satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including fine dining or nightclubs
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle guest relations professionally
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for order entry and cashiering
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in a busy setting while maintaining high-quality service standards
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations within the food industry
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively by understanding guest preferences and promoting specials or premium options
- Experience with reservation management tools like OpenTable is a plus for enhancing guest experiences
